Annie has left. Before returning to the States, she and I worked on drawings for a collection in tourmalines and spinels set in fine gold and silver. We put three pieces each into production. We are now waiting for those to be completed.
Three pieces each however do not constitute a collection. However, there are many questions to be answered as to how to proceed. It will be very hard to fill out the collections with tiny budgets, concerns over the origin of stones, as well as the cost of production that we do not know. We have to wait and see if these samples come out as we want them to or if we have to tweak them before proceeding.
I sit, I think, I wonder. Will this work? There are so many loose ends, so many unanswered questions. I have spent in total a full working month of my time in India, Saturdays and Sundays included. It is a lot of time to be spending away from one’s own New York-based business and be apart from one’s family. The overall intention of the program is good but I am concerned with the fact that verbal agreements have not yet been put into a written agreement.
Especially as I am now working on a second set of design drawings to include lapis (again).
